Prototal continues to expand in the manufacture of polymeric products through the acquisition of Tojos Plast AB in Malmö. With the acquisition, Prototal further strengthens its capacity in injection molding of plastic components.
For 70 years, Tojos has been a leading producer of plastic components for several different industries and segments. The company is certified according to ISO 9001, 14001 and 13485 and is approved for the manufacture of both medical technology and food technology products. The company has sales of approximately SEK 40 million and is based in Malmö.
The company has a well-invested production with 15 injection molding units in complete production cells with associated robots that can produce around the clock, 7 days a week. High quality awareness and service level have given the company a very good reputation with its customers.
“We at Prototal are very pleased with the acquisition of Tojos, it strengthens our previously combined capacity and will thus be a natural part of our business. Within the framework of Prototal’s new business focus – with an increased focus on digital production of plastic components, the acquisition of Tojos means a significantly added ability to serve our customers with unbeatable service and local presence ”- describes Henrik Lundell, CEO of Prototal.
“Prototal as the owner of Tojos will provide our customers with a much broader product and technology platform and in addition an increased level of service in terms of capacity, competence and delivery. Letting Tojos be part of the Prototal Group is a natural next step for the business’ continued development and creates new conditions for development “, describes Jan-Olof Wilhelmsson, former owner of the company, who in connection with the acquisition resigns as CEO but remains in contact with the company on a consulting basis .
Prototal Industries has sales of SEK 360 million and 175 employees in 5 locations, of which the main factory in Jönköping has 100 employees. The company manufactures prototypes and series products in plastic and was, among other things, the pioneer in Sweden in 3D printing.
